Overview
I was born and raised in Western New York in a small town called Silver Creek, NY. During high school is when I discovered photoshop and pretty much fell in love with design. I came to RIT in September 2006 and can't imagine having gone anywhere else. Upon graduating, I am looking to pursue a career in design, dealing particularly with branding and web design. I am willing to go anywhere but am looking most specifically at Chicago, Ohio, Burlington, New York City and anywhere in between.
When it comes to design, I love using colors, textures and imagery as a cohesive unit to reflect certain emotions or messages. I believe design should make the viewer feel something, whether it's happiness, sadness, anger, nostalgia, any emotion in the world. That is when design is most effective: when it warrants a response so clear and intense.
RANDOM
I played the flute from the 3rd grade through my senior year. When I was in 6th grade I played a level 6 solo (the highest) and scored a 92/100. I almost pursued a career in music but design changed my mind. Music is still a big part of my life now. Not so much with playing but not a day goes by where I don't listen to music. I have been to 20 concerts since April 2005 which is a pretty big feat which considering where I come from.
I absolutely love everything Joss Whedon has done. Buffy, Angel, Firefly, DollHouse, Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog. He's a genius. And one of the reasons why I got into design strangely enough. I'm also a huge fan of Lost, The Office and Castle.
I grew up with 4 sisters, 2 older and 2 younger. This has definitely influenced how I can love being around people but sometimes, I just need a break. I value my alone time greatly.
